The lecture hall memories

Friday, November 25, 2005

Yesterday, I spent my day attending a seminar. It was held in a Lecture Hall of an establishment. It was my first time walking into a lecture theatre 6 years since I graduated, and it felt a little nostalgic. Of course this lecture hall is very much nicer and tastefully done up compared to an old university. This one had pine wood walls and floorings, and the seats were made of comfortable fabric cushions.

The people who filled the hall seemed out of sorts to me, including myself. Then I realise it’s because my image of people in a lecture hall are those dressed in jeans and sweaters, carrying knapsacks or simply clutching books in hand. Not the guys in ties and jackets and the girls smartly dressed in pant or skirt suits.

I sat a few rows from the back. While waiting for my colleagues of the industry to come traipsing in, I suddenly felt sad. Whenever I had to go to lecture halls on a daily affair back then, it didn’t feel “lonely” like this because I know my friends would be there. But this time I sat alone and missed my friends and university life. We had so much fun even though had to attend boring lectures everyday. I sat there reminiscing and concluded it MUST be the best days of one’s life to be a carefree student.

I guess we will treasure the feelings we had in university forever! Or if you want, we can all pretend to be in Uni again, dress up in jeans, sweaters/turtle necks, and trainers, and sit in a lecture hall for fun! hehehe ….*I was kidding* But…. could be fun if we actually go back to UK n relive our memories eigh?
