Literally an "eye opener" experience

Friday, December 16, 2005

Last night I spent about 20 minutes trying to remove my left contact lense. As a habit, I always remove the right first, then the left. So my right one had come off and the left one was proving to be a problem.

I was trying all ways to get the lense unstuck by cutting my nails shorter so that I could move the lense about and dripping eye drops to wet the eye. My vision was a blur when I had both eyes opened because one was fuzzy while the other was clear.

The lense remained stuck to my eye, I don't understand why till now. Eventually it got better and I could peel it off but halfway out, it snapped back to the eye!

I was panicking and thought how awful it would be if the stupid lense had to be surgically removed. By now my eye was sore and getting red. I tried a few more times and thank God it finally peeled off.

Any advise from people who might have experienced this? It's a first for me in 9 years!
