Point of exhaustion

Thursday, December 22, 2005

Two nights ago I fell asleep in front of the TV well before 10p.m. I didn't think much of it though it seemed quite early compared to usual for me to dose off.

Not until yesterday did I realise something isn't quite right. On my way home from work at 6-ish, suddenly I felt the nape of my neck, shoulders, lower back and thighs begin to ache. To add to that, I suddenly felt helluva sleepy and couldn't keep my eyes opened.

I had to resort to turning up the radio volume and chewing on something to keep awake. That didn't work very well. I was aware also that my foot was leaning more heavily onto my accellerator peddle, too.

I got home, fed my furballs a simple meal of just dry food (too unwell to dish out the wet food), didn't even clean their poo box, and went to lie down while waiting for dinner.

Right after dinner, I showered and went straight to bed. That was about 8.30p.m. In total I slept for about 11 hours. I woke up today with a lot less aching. I still feel a bit of tiredness today so I'm trying not to push myself to do anything strenous for the next couple of days.

Maybe my body is telling me that I'm not getting enough rest. But I haven't been doing anything to tire myself out. Other than going to work. Hmm...what could it be??
