Anything goes

I got up today and thought I'll like to return to the world of blogging and start by putting up a post. After hours of staring at the text box with the blinking cursor, I have no topic to blog about. Unbelievable! But I'm not about to give up and log off without a post. So this will be a messy post with whatever comes to mind.

Today is the last day of my long 2-week break from work. Was I bored at home with nothing much to do other than flipping through Astro, playing Friends DVD over and over, reading and sleeping? NO! In fact, I think I could have a couple more weeks of it even though on some days I complained of being bored.

Recently I've been given a book called The Secret which talks about how the human mind is so powerful that we become what we think. In a way, I think this book was given to me at just the right time. Sometimes I need a little pep talk to get me back on my feet again, even if it's in the form of a book.

I miss my furry babies. I've not been able to hug and play with them for months now and I'm quite sure they're thinking I don't care about them anymore. I often wonder if they understand what I say. Some people say animals have instincts and they know what's happening to you and so they understand the changes around them. If only there was a way for me to know this is true for a fact.

My laptop has gone haywire and had to send it to be fixed. I can't believe it takes a month before I can get it back. Whether big or small problem, I think people tend to take the easy way out and give themselves more than necessary the time to fix something. It reminds me of the time years ago when a former colleague would always quote a 5-day lead time to solve any kind of issue - even if it's just changing a word or two in some document! How we ridicule ourselves and others at times...but yet we accept such behaviour because there's nothing you can do and the one in control doesn't want to do anything.

Enough rambling for now...gotta start enjoying the last of the weekday hours going about doing nothing. How I'll miss the last 2 wonderful weeks...
