In a blink of an eye, year 2007 is now another year in archive. It has been a great one. On the eve of Day 1 of 2007, Ray and I sat with both our families at dinner, and everyone was nothing but all smiles. That night, we celebrated the wonderful news of me expecting our very first baby.
I can't remember what we talked about then, but it was all about the newcoming baby. We didn't even know the gender then, as I was only about 5 weeks pregnant.
Then year 2007 started and my pregnancy progressed. In my first 4.5 months, I threw up endlessly, admitted to hospital to be on drips, and was perpetually tired. In the next few months that followed, I began to enjoy the pregnancy when all the sickness disappeared. We knew we would be having a boy and we started shopping.
Now, a year later, our little boy is our greatest joy. As I sat through dinner with him next to me in his pram, I can't help but reminisce the time a year ago when he was just in my tummy. A year has gone by so quickly.
Now we look forward to 2008 with many more happy and exciting times to come. Before tonight, I did not make any resolutions because I thought I won't be able to keep up, just like all the years gone by. But on the eve of today, I decided on not just one but two!
1. Drink lots of water! (I hardly drink enough. I don't even know how I survive)
2. Don't just be inspired by Rich Dad, Poor Dad. Impart that knowledge to baby as a Rich Mom.
Now, would someone be proud of me? At least for resolution No. 1, perhaps? :)
Happy New Year 2008!
P/S. Of all the new year SMSes I've received on New Year's eve, here is my favourite from my boss:
The year is almost gone,
But it has made us strong.
The path was long,
But we walked it with a song.
There were fears and tears,
But we had reasons for cheers.
