Funny conversation

Monday, May 31, 2010

I overheard some of my aunts talking the other day about a strange topic - about testosterone boosters. Hmm...it's definitely something I don't wish to participate in with them as I don't want to know too intimately what they or their hubbies may need. I just felt really odd sitting around there while they talked about it.

Though I turned around and walked off, I can't help thinking how funny it would've turned out if they did get a few of us nieces and nephews to contribute ideas or what we know in the area in terms of products to use!

Funny question

Sunday, May 10, 2009

I was recently introduced to a friend of a friend's and in making small talks, my friend mentioned that I was once in sports and had to maintain slim as part of the requirement to stay competitive. Upon hearing that, her friend wasted no time in asking me which top diet pill I used to diet and stay slim!

I guess she just didn't know that no athlete would really turn to using diet pills to stay slim. All that work out in training would help to make you fit. At the most, if one is still considered over weight, you might be asked to put in more effort to work off the weight or go on a healthy food diet to help lose the weight. As far as I know, none of the sports people I've known take to such pills.

I didn't quite answer her in such a long reply. I just said I don't know because I didn't use any. I don't know why but I didn't quite feel the chemistry of being friends with this friend of my friend's.

"Oops!" Moment

Tuesday, February 19, 2008

My colleague is given a laptop instead of a desktop to work on. She's been using it for a little more than a year now. She has always been using the laptop with the adaptor plugged into it. Someone then told her that it's not good for the lifespan of the laptop battery because you need to use and drain the power instead of perpetually charging it up.

So she unplugged the adaptor and attempted to use the battery to run the notebook. But it kept switching off on its own each time she did so. Clearly something's wrong and so she called for help with the IT guys.

Today the guy showed up to take a look at the problem. You know what he found out? The battery was not even attached to the notebook!! It's still nicely wrapped in its package and kept in the laptop bag for as long as she's had the notebook! We all had a good laugh for a couple of minutes. How could she not know that the battery was never attached all this while?

Life is pretty amusing huh?

Money-lenders get online

Money-lenders, more "affectionately" known in the Chinese community as Tai Yee Loong, are also jumping onto the internet bandwagon. I saw this advertisement on a water machine. Check it out.

How the blogging world has caught on, even the Ah Loongs are signing up! :D
